CRB resource

The CRB has launched a new website which combines the two existing disclosure and CRB websites (www.disclosure.gov.uk and www.crb.gov.uk) to offer a one-stop shop for all CRB information.

The two sites have been brought together in response to customer feedback indicating that the existence of two websites was confusing. Both of the web addresses still work, but they now direct users to the same site.

Better use of data

The DfES and NCSL have launched an online training tool for school leaders on the effective use of data. According to the DfES, the tool will provide practical guidance on how data can provide an evidence base, for example in:

• assessing pupils' potential and tracking their progress

• setting targets

• self-evaluation

• monitoring attendance

• reporting to parents and governors

• staff management

It also provides information about additional tools and data sources that may be useful, as well as a range of case studies.
