Next year's SHA president

Results of the nominations for SHA president for 2005-06 are in. Sue Kirkham, head of Walton High School near Stafford, is president-elect, having stood unopposed. She will take the helm from Tim Andrew on 1 September.

Sue joined SHA Council in 1993 as a deputy head. Her particular interests are teaching and learning, curriculum and qualifications and the modernisation of the assessment system. As such, she is also a member of QCA board and the NAA modernisation group.

Having started as a linguist, Sue has a particular interest in foreign languages, and worked with the DfES on the upcoming post-14 modern foreign languages conference. She also is leading SHA's Sri Lanka Project.
