Queen's Birthday Honours

Receiving the CBE were:

• Dr Elizabeth Sidwell, chief executive of Haberdashers' Aske's Federation, London

• David Turrell, head of Sir Bernard Lovell School, Bristol

The OBE was bestowed on:

• Mary Karaolis, head of Ravenscroft School, London

• Colin Simkins, recently head of Hodgson School, Lancashire

• Meredydd David, principal of Reaseheath College, Cheshire

The MBE went to:

• Barbara Hamnett, retired deputy head of JFS School, Harrow

• David Eynon, head of 14-19 Development, Caerphilly Borough Council
