Queen's Honours list

Five ASCL member were recognised as part of the Queen's Honours list in December for services to education. Congratulations go out to the following people.

Alasdair Macdonald, head of Morpeth School, London was awarded the Knights Batchelor, an honour he shared with children's writer Jacqueline Wilson. Keith Hargrave, most recently head of Canterbury High School, Kent received the CBE.

Accepting the OBE were:

• Victor Galyer, head of Challney High School for Boys and Community College, Luton

• Sister Brigid Halligan, head of Bellerive FCJ Catholic College, Liverpool

• Robert Jervis, most recently head of Lakelands School, Sports and Language College, Ellesmere
