Aspiring leaders
To help develop and support the next generation of leaders, ASCL is building a network of middle leaders who have the ambition to lead our schools and colleges in the future.
The purpose of the Emerging Leaders Network is to bring together middle leaders from all over the country to help them hone their skills, broaden their experience and prepare them for senior leadership roles.
A half day pilot event took place in Leicester on 12 March with a select group of these emerging leaders to find out what they need to develop their skills and how ASCL can support them. Following feedback from the event, ASCL is putting together web-based tools and a series of networking and training events for members of the network.
The Emerging Leaders Network is open to ambitious middle leaders, both teaching and non-teaching staff, who are not yet eligible for ASCL membership (by being on the leadership team or having a whole school/college responsibility) but are eager to develop their leadership skills and progress into more senior roles.
