Land of the free?

Members who are feeling that life is getting harder may be encouraged by two small bits of news from 'across the pond.' The first is the announcement that teachers in one Texas school board area have been authorised to carry concealed pistols in class to defend themselves against the danger of school shootings.

The second is the lawsuit being brought against a school in California for failing to enforce its dress code. The twist here is that the prosecution is arguing that by failing to prevent the young man in question from wearing make up and feminine clothes, the school was responsible for the fact that one of his classmates shot him.
