Inaugural business management conference

Presentations from ASCL's first business management conference, held on 5 May, are available on the website at www.ascl.org.uk/Home/conferences/presentations

The conference highlighted the role business managers play in setting and achieving schools' strategic priorities in an era of tightening budgets. On a practical level, workshops explored a variety of options for gaining best value for money in procuring services such as payroll, human resources and occupational health.

The conference was also an excellent opportunity for networking, with a full house of 220 delegates. Based on the positive feedback from the day, plans are already underway to make this an annual ASCL event.
