Value-added fellowship

SHA and the Farmington Trust have announced a new fellowship to promote values and moral purpose in secondary schools.

The fellowship will fund a SHA member to pursue research in an area related to values-based education, standards in schools or whole-person education.

The Farmington Trust will fund the equivalent of a replacement teacher at point six of the main scale, the cost of any university or college fees and agreed out-of-pocket expenses.

At the end of the fellowship, the recipient will produce a report and resources that can be shared with other schools.

Areas covered under the fellowship include leadership development for senior students or for senior leadership staff, developing personal values across the curriculum, school assemblies in an age of religious polarisation, and assembly resource packs.
