The promotion of community cohesion has been a legal duty for maintained schools since the Education and Inspections Act 2006 came into effect.

The DCSF has already done a good deal of work to support this but they are also promoting materials produced by the Institute for Community Cohesion at Coventry University at www.coventry.ac.uk/researchnet/d/527 The centre is planning to issue further materials during the course of the year.
