ASCL lends support for international initiative
ASCL's International Committee is supporting schools' efforts in global learning by pressing for simplification of the application process for the International Award (www.globalgateway.org.uk). This would bring it in line with less bureaucratic processes now in place for other awards.
An interesting website with an international link is that of the International Gateway for Gifted Youth (IGGY) on www2.warwick.ac.uk/study/iggy IGGY is a new organisation aimed at the brightest and most creative young people from around the world. Once enrolled, members become part of a global community and have access to a wide range of opportunities, including some exciting international visits.
For school leaders interested in learning more about education and leadership around the world, the next international convention of the International Confederation of Principals will be in Singapore from 6-10 July. Find out more on www.icpsingapore2009.com
ASCL is able to offer a limited number of £500 bursaries to members who would like to go to the convention and cannot obtain support from any other source. For further details email registry@ascl.org.uk
