Redundancy payment increase

The maximum of a week's pay for statutory redundancy payment purposes will increase from £350 to £380. This means that the maximum statutory redundancy payment will increase from £10,500 to £11,400. No announcement has yet been made as to when this change will come into effect but it would be wise to factor it in immediately. It is likely that the basic award for unfair dismissal will also be based on a calculation of £380 for a notional week's wages but again no announcement has been made on this.
